How do I get an Avatar and what is it?
The term "avatar" comes from Hindu mythology, and originally was the name of the temporary body that a God used when visiting Earth. Avatars refer to pictures, drawings, or icons that members of the forum choose to use to represent themselves.
It is not compulsory to have one, but it is a lot of fun when you do. Since we don't know what other members look like, avatars become a way to identify each other, some of us change our outfits depending on the season. (I have my pic as mine but you don't have to)
You can find Avatars in different ways. You can type "avatar" in google, you can use any picture you have on your PC.
On this forum we use avatars that are less than 300 pixels, the height no greater than 300 pixels, and the file size no more than 68 KB.You can use animations as well as a pic. Make sure that you store your avatar where you can find it easily, try the desktop.
You will have to upload the pic to your profile. Once you have clicked on "Profile" at the top of the page, look along the tabs and select Avatar. Follow the instructions and hey presto you now have an image on your profile. You can chose one from the gallery or your own.
Have fun and feel free to post in this forum to try out your avatars. We have lots in different categories in the avatar gallery.
