Gracie - our lovely SW consultant was so kind when I first stepped on the scales and said something I will never forget " dont worry about the weight showing on the scales as this will be the last time you see that amount " and boy was she right !!!
Think of it as the 1st step to a new you !! why should people think that stepping on the scales ought to be a punishment ? its the beginning of something positive !!
We all over indulge and Im a typical woman who loves her food but now also loves SW as its not a diet -its a healthy eating plan that I can do for ever .

Gracie -only YOU can decide when its the right time to lose weight,so many people start a diet etc because others have encouraged them too-sorry but its a waste of time unless you really want to do it lol
Im no pillar of virtue - i never exercise, joined a gym once but it cost me a fortune and did not help my weight loss at all so never bothered again lol
Good luck and im always here with words of wisdom lol xxxx

Well done Linda and don't worry about hijacking the post it is nice to hear success stories.

Gracie personally I wouldn't step on the scales and go by how you feel and your clothes. Change you eating patterns and food types and go from there. Once your clothes begin to feel bigger then step on the scales and give your self a starting point.
I go to the doctors to weigh myself as I got quite addicted to checking and would do so more than once in a day Sad

mrsp and lms - thanks for your kind and supporting words. This forum is MUCH better for encouragement, straight talking and support than any of the so-called 'weight-loss support' groups. Have just had my small bowl of porridge with blueberries for breakfast. Onwards and upwards! Hope everyone else is feeling healthy and positive for the new year and back to school tomorrow.

That will keep you nice and full until dinner time. Be careful eating too much wheat though as it can bloat Very Happy

I am glad you feel supported her, keep us updated on your progress

Hello Guys amazing topic i think that losing the weight is not a very big task like there are many exercises which you can adopt like yoga exercise, cardio,Running is one of the best exercise, power lifting and much more.Dieting is also a good source of weight losing. Thanks a lot!!

Only 1.5lb to go to reach my target Very Happy
Im afraid I dont do exercise as such, well not stuff In classes that cost me money or that I cant keep up with lol
I get my exercise naturally walking at uni -its such a big campus and very long so I park my car (have to drive as its 12miles away) but each of my sessions are in different buildings and the library is miles away so loads of walking. Wink

I could make all the excuses you can think of for not exercising enough - no time, too expensive, bad back, etc - but the truth is I just don't want to!!! I did go to a Rosemary Conley class regularly a few years ago, but it closed. I have been to the gym with a friend, but find it slightly scary - all the people look very fit and know how to work the machines! But I do walk a lot (I'm a rubbish driver and hate driving in London) ........... and life in a primary school is not what you'd call a sedentary job!

No it certainly isn't Gracie! I do walk a lot in between bus stops going to work and depending on the weather I will walk to work from the bus station instead of catching another bus Very Happy I did like aquaerobics and sadly have neither the time or anyone willing to go with Sad

My weight loss has stuck the past two weeks and despite avoiding fish butty friday at work I have gained. But I am thinking it is due to TOM here today Sad

lms -well done!!!! I have also had a bad few weeks, but determined to get back on the wagon, especially as the sun is starting to shine so it's time to throw off the layers - less clothes exposes the lumpy bits even more!
mrsp - only two pounds to go! That's fab, you will be there before you know it!
